Food KAIR is a USDA certified
food pantry. KAIR offers "Lunches to Go" - pre-made lunches for the homeless and transients and bags of groceries
are distributed for those who have cooking facilities. The pantry is open five days a week during office hours or
by appointment.
Every Monday fresh bread and other bakery items
are donated by PUBLIX and food is purchased at Miami's Daily Bread Food Bank and delivered to KAIR. Food is also donated by
the various food drives throughout the year such as the Postal Food Drive, Curves Food Drive, and the Boy Scouts Food Drive.
Food donations also come from churches, businesses, organizations and individuals. Currently KAIR is distributing
over 7,000 pounds of food per month! This need more than doubled in the past year alone!
KAIR provides Thanksgiving and Christmas Feast Baskets for over 200 families. The Christmas Holiday
Baskets went to 250 families. Groceries are given to anyone in need without regard to
race, gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability.
Medical and Dental Assistance
with prescriptions, co-pays to the clinic, and for medical appointments.
Optical Assistance with prescription glasses.
Rent Assistance to make a security deposit or a grant towards rent.
Utilities Water, electric, basic phone line.
Transportation Bus tickets to relocate out of the Keys or gasoline for
local travel to work or medical appointments.
ID Documents
Assistance with legal documents in order to start work.
