KidKAIR
PROGRAMS STUDENT SUCCESS - This program provides children, parents
or caretakers with the necessary tools for success in school. These needs might include transportation vouchers for teacher
conferences or Parent's Night; subsidized English Language Classes; computers and other educational materials; eye glasses;
perhaps even a bicycle for transportation to an after-school job.
BACK TO SCHOOL - For families struggling to make ends meet, the new
school year presents challenges to provide their children with the items to succeed. In conjunction with local community groups, KAIR
collects and distributes backpacks with the school supplies necessary for their success.
HAPPY
FEET - In conjunction with Switlick Elementary School, KAIR provides sneakers
and shoes for children in need. With referrals from the guidance department, KAIR issues vouchers to local stores.
WEEKEND NUTRITION - Area students are
identified as being "food insecure" over the weekend. These children live in families where it is difficult to meet
nutritional needs when school lunches and breakfasts are not provided. KAIR sends home a backpack with 10 pounds of nutritional,
family-friendly food that supplements the families' food needs.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS - Many children need assistance at holidays, but do not qualify for established programs in the community.
With referrals from agencies and schools, KAIR provides food and gifts to make the holidays special for the family.
